High School Teacher Directory

Even though just a month remains in the school year, we want to remind families that our two foundation principles of school climate at the high school are Respect Self and Respect Others. These two ideas guide our code of conduct. All students deserve an environment conducive to learning, constructive in nature, committed to positivity.

We can’t control what students say or do to each other; we can respond when ideals are not met. We encourage students to advocate for themselves. Don’t wait for small problems to become big problems--and problems will arise because we are all different. Talk with a teacher or staff member. Advocating for yourself isn’t tattling or “being a rat”; it is taking a stand for what is right.

Conflicts between students are different than bullying. Definitions of bullying may vary, but here are summary characteristics of bullying: repeated, intentional and power driven. See the attachment for our district policy on bullying. Be sure to speak with a teacher, school counselor or principal if you think bullying is taking place.

We encourage you to check these resources from the Child Mind Institute:

How To Arm Your Child Against Bullying
How To Know If Your Child Is Being Bullied
My Child Is A Bully: What Should I Do?

We believe the majority of our students do the right thing. When exceptions occur, we want to deal with it to remedy the situation. We aren’t perfect, but believe in “getting better together.”
